On April 26 in Doha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev held meetings with the leadership of major Qatari corporations — Power International Holding and Milaha. The meetings discussed joint projects in gas processing, blue fuel transportation, and electricity generation.
Negotiations with Power International Holding head Mutaz Al-Hayat were aimed at investing in strategic sectors. Yermek Kosherbayev noted that these areas are the foundation of Kazakhstan's energy security. The participation of Qatari capital will accelerate the implementation of large infrastructure projects.
At the meeting with Milaha CEO Fahad Saad Al-Qahtani, transport and transit issues were considered. The parties discussed prospects for developing multimodal transportation and expanding access to Kazakhstani ports on the Caspian Sea. The minister emphasized the importance of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), which will turn Kazakhstan into a major hub between Europe and Asia.
Following the meeting, Qatari investors and the Kazakh side agreed to move to an active phase of implementing the discussed projects.
