The Kazakhstani currency market started the week with a significant strengthening of the tenge: the dollar fell to 460.80 tenge on KASE trading, reports Todayinfo news agency.
According to the results of Monday's trading on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), the weighted average exchange rate of the tenge strengthened by 0.8% (by 4.06 tenge) compared to Friday, reaching 460.80 tenge. On Friday, this figure was 464.86 tenge.
The official rate was set on April 27 at 464.86 tenge. However, the official rate for April 28, based on trading results, will decrease to 460.80 tenge. Thus, in one trading day, the tenge significantly strengthened its position, while the dollar weakened.
Market participants will closely monitor whether the strengthening of the tenge in the coming days is short-term or becomes a stable trend.
This dynamic attracts the attention of market participants and may affect further expectations regarding the currency.
